"First Rate Professional"
"I am pleased to provide a reference for Bill Jorgensen who worked closely with me in senior positions over 8 years at Proudfoot and Management Consulting Group PLC. He is a first rate professional who combines business acumen with various aspects of IT and related management. By background he is an accountant which brings a financial understanding to his work. He is experienced in using ITIL methodologies for managing multiple IT projects and has demonstrated an ability to manage a diverse function stretching over five continents concentrated in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific in a cost effective and pragmatic manner. He specifically managed the installation of an Oracle ERP system across the group and developed, planned and implemented comprehensive IT, security and disaster recovery programs. He is of the highest integrity and a pleasure to work with.
Over the past 22 years I have had the privilege of partnering with a dynamic, fast paced, global, and growing business services organization. During this time I served six CEOs, managed rapid growth, provided services during a massive downsizing and then successfully help grow the business back. Through my leadership, my teams and I have successfully developed, directed and managed the Information Technology, security and telecom functions in a global shared services environment. I have seen practically every business and technical situation and have turned each of them into business enablers. At the point of my departure, we were a $700M business services organization operating eight companies on six continents. I have impeccable references, outstanding credentials, strong and tested experience and a calm-under fire approach that gets things done, even in challenging situations!
There are three key differences that separate me from others:
1. My depth and breadth of experience and expertise. Chances are excellent that I have already seen the issues you are facing and have successfully resolved them. My experience as a CIO, CSO and CFO gives me the unique perspective that has enabled me to demonstrate success and make a difference from domestic to global issues, technology governance to security analysis, operations management to mergers and acquisitions, and disaster recovery to ERP implementations.
2. I have the experience and ability to see the big picture (strategic IT planning and budgeting) AND implement it (tactical planning and project management). I develop strategic technology and management plans in conjunction with corporate goals that strengthen and enhance security, operations and performance. I am a hands-on IT and management executive that has the skills that are required to partner with you to accomplish business transformations inside your organization. I am closely attuned to the bottom line and understand the impact that IT investments and management decisions have on the entire corporation.
3. I am a tested and proven leader. I've always been a trusted advisor and partner of the CEO. My job is to make my boss's job easier. I have consistently been the go-to, to get it done, without a worry person and I have proven leadership skills that have led to consistently delivering increased performance, savings, and innovation to the business. I am a builder, fixer, and stabilizer in the organization which means that I will quickly make a significant difference in Information Technology, Security and Operations in your company.
Growth driver with 22 years of CIO, CFO and CSO leadership success in data-intensive environments for global parent and 9 international subsidiaries
Bill Jorgensen aligns IT with corporate goals to deliver breakthrough results and empower companies to grow and prosper. In corporate information technology and the emerging arena of information security, he has been the driving force behind innovations and initiatives that placed his company at the forefront of information availability, reliability, security, and flexibility.
As CIO for Management Consulting Group, a $700M publicly traded professional services organization, Bill put in place forward-looking systems and capabilities to support the business as it grew from a local consulting group to a global enterprise. Originally joining Proudfoot Consulting before it was acquired by MCG, Bill expanded his role and responsibilities as the company grew through aggressive acquisitions that presented significant IT and leadership challenges. In addition to providing stable and strategic leadership for all of the company's technology systems, Bill adeptly handled the integration of multiple acquisitions around the world and installed ERP systems that enabled immediate access to critical financial and business data for the entire global enterprise.
Within MCG, Bill was known for repeatedly stepping up to take on tough assignments-and consistently delivering results. For example, he spearheaded the development of disaster recovery and business continuity planning systems that were immediately tested by hurricanes that hit the company's Florida headquarters. Two years in a row, when storms tore the roof off the building, knocked out power, cut communications, and threatened data security, MCG was up and running within a few hours with no loss or breach of data.
Bill was also called in as an expert resource and astute troubleshooter for technical issues that arose in consulting engagements with diverse corporations worldwide.
Most recently, asked by the CEO to launch and lead the company's first information security organization, Bill established the strategy, programs, and protocols to bring the company in line with US and global standards and raised visibility around security issues across the organization.
Bill began his career in corporate finance and previously held combined CFO/CIO roles for two Florida corporations. This unique background gives him exceptional insight into corporate financial and business needs as well as technology issues. He has been a senior member of the corporate executive team with his last three companies, defining direction for the business as a whole, and this experience ensures that his IT strategies serve the overarching business needs and goals.
Bill is a polished speaker and published author of articles on IT strategy and security and is active in professional associations in his field. He is Six Sigma, TQM and ITIL trained and holds several professional designations (PMP - Project Management Professional, CISM - Certified Information Security Manager, CGEIT - Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT, CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional). Bill holds dual BS degrees, in Finance and Computer Science, as well as a degree in Aerospace Sciences.
“In my dealings with Bill, I enjoyed his combination of professional expertise, his focus on the interests of the business combined with his personal respect for colleagues everywhere in the organisation. This rare combination in a CIO made Bill very effective in a challenging international consultancy environment.”
