An executive and innovator with deep roots in the billiards manufacturing industry, Frederick J. Mali spent decades in various roles at his family's company, The Henry W. T. Mali & Co, Inc., in New York City. As Chief Executive Officer and President of the company for many years, Mr. Mali brought an overall commitment to professional excellence and an unwavering commitment to the success of his company. Recognized both inside his company and throughout the billiards manufacturing sector as a dedicated leader and ambassador of the game, Frederick J. Mali left an indelible impact on the world of billiards before his death in 2007. In 2009, Mr. Mali was posthumously honored with the Billiard Congress of America’s Annual President’s Award, a strong testament to his record of stewardship and determination. Among his many contributions to the sport of billiards, Frederick J. Mali helped found the Billiard and Bowling Institute of America and the Billiard Congress of America, both major trade groups in the field. Prior to assuming duties as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mali & Co, he served in a wide range of management and creative positions at the company, where he developed production equipment for the automated manufacture of Mali pool cues, designed a series of pool cue inlays, and more. Frederick J. Mali joined his family's business after a peacetime tour of duty in the United States Army and a lengthy period of formal education. An alumnus of Harvard Business School and Yale University, Mr. Mali earned his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts from these respective institutions.
