Frederick Paxton

BSc Computer Information Systems                       3rd year student

I am currently studying Computer Information Systems at Bangor University and I will be graduating in July 2016. My main desire after University is to earn a job as a Software Engineer but I am also open to any job opportunities within the IT sector. I am looking for a career where I can improve my knowledge further and push myself to reach my maximum potential. I am a sociable person and I feel confident communicating with other people, whether this be working with a client or working alongside other colleagues.

Computer Information Systems (BSc)

Bangor University

I am graduating in July 2016 with an expected 2:1. During my time at Bangor I have gained experience programming in many languages including: Java, Python and C#. I have also improved my knowledge of HTML5, CSS and Javascript, as well as learning how to use PHP, XML and SVG.  Databases are also a large part of my degree and I have learnt how to use MySQL.

In my first year I was taught how to use Linux, mainly using Bash scripting. I decided to relate this to my final year project so I could learn more about Linux and find out how and why people use it. The main aim of my project is to develop a build and test environment for High Performance Computing environments using both continuous integration and continuous deployment. I worked alongside HPC Wales during my project as they wanted a more structured, consistent, controlled and accessible approach to both the build of software and performance testing.
