System Architect for Nagra Digital Right Management

Nagravision (Lausanne, Switzerland)

As a system architect for Nagra's connected TV security solution, I am performing following activities:

  • Present our product and collect customer wishes facing world wide customers.
  • Define product roadmap taking into account the market trends and our customer specificities.
  • Define the architecture of new features system wide using UML modeling, so that module specialists can understand the scope and estimate the effort to realize new features.
  • Participate in module designs with each module specialists. Hardware designers for secure chipsets, cryptologists for new algorithms,  iphone and android specialists for app libraries, Digital TV standard lobbyists,Web service designers for Head end services and hardware specialists for infrastructure deployment in Operator premises.
  • Define and schedule product increments to bring value at each product increment.
  • Document the product abstracting complexity and pointing to technical detailed documentation.
  • Support development teams and validate their contributions.

Our Digital Right Management is developed by a team of 120 engineers in France, India and Switzerland all part of a single Safe train.

My expertise covers:

  • Embedded software we deploy on Android and iOS applications, windows, mac and set top boxes.
  • Security architecture, cryptography and attack evaluations.
  • Server deployment of services with a complete infrastructure in TV operator premises or hosted in a public cloud.

Module Architect and Technical Lead


In a team of 20 software engineers split between Swiss, France and California, I was the technical lead for a new smart card development.My activities were : 

  • Evaluating the security of the new micro-controller by reviewing the security features, and conducting evaluation lab attacks.
  • Designing secure embedded software architecture.
  • Leading technically the embedded software developers, defining the tooling environment, the coding conventions.
  • Presenting plannings and technical details to the customer.

Senior Software Engineer

  • Designed and developed embedded secure software. With strong focus on security, robustness and chip size and performance optimization.
  • Interfaced with Microelectronic companies to select processors and packaging.

Design Kit responsible

ST microelectronics 
  • Built and supported the creation of a micro-electronic design kit.
  • Interfaced with circuit designers, CAD software vendors and physical technologists to allow designers to create valid circuits.

  • Developed an interface to provide image processing in 2D and 3D for intra-vascular ultrasound acquisitions to cure arteriosclerosis.
