In an attempt to refine and improve on their current state of operations it was decided to build a dedicated ERP system geared especially for the food and beverage industry.

While there were some "off the shelf" products available, none encapsulated every aspect of the business.

Kevin Doherty at ARCsoft had already developed a drink stock package and using this as a base we broke the business down into five basic sections:

1. Stock Control (Drink, Food and Sundries)
2. Human Resources
3. Cashing Procedures
4. Till Integration
5. Head Office Integration

My role in the evolution of ARCsoft was to refine and standardise the operations and processes involved in each section. I would then communicate the requirements to Kevin who would then code according to the specifications.

The result: A fully integrated ERP system, rolled out across ten different sites between Dublin and London and the new standard for the Porterhouse.
