Interests & Background

I am from a small farming community in South Africa. I have a passion for nature and that is the reason why I decided to follow an education in nature conservation.

As part of my research for my Master’s degree, I lived and worked in Majete Wildlife Reserve in Malawi during 2014. There I have been exposed to hard physical work in a tough African environment, as well as managing employees, guests and the camp.

I enjoy travelling and have organised and done several backpacking trips through Africa. I also enjoy sport such as athletics and rugby and in my free time I enjoy watersports such as surfing, kiteboarding and wakeboarding.
