Deployed to West Africa as part of the International Ebola Outbreak Response; provided technical assistance to in-country staff pertaining to surveillance and epidemiology


  • October to November 2014

Deployed to the Washington DC Quarantine Station in response to Ebola Entry Screening; stood up entry screening at the second major US port of entry for travelers arriving from West Africa


  • 2014

Supported station activities in response to Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Ebola outbreaks; managed data and provided quality assurance for traveler’s health declarations, risk assessments, and illness response records for both Ebola and MERS responses


  • July to August 2014

Coordinated an Epi-Aid in conjunction with the CDC Traveler’s Health Branch in regards to assessing U.S. Citizens who may have been exposed to chikungunya in the Dominican Republic


  • November 2013 to May 2014

Planned and coordinated the Miami Quarantine Station Communicable Disease Emergency Response Tabletop Exercise; scenario involved response to a pandemic novel influenza entering the United States via an airline conveyance.
