Managed full time staff of 9, 5-part-timers and rotating interns; hired/trained staff; staff evaluations; daily editorial direction and staff assignments, which often changed hourly; crisis management--which entailed re-prioritizing assignments and changing editorial direction as mandated by conditions; "live" news anchor as needed; website content: text, sound and photos, which were updated several times a day; phone and in-person contact with government, business, education, community, religious leaders to build trust/rapport with staff and broadcasting operations; public relations outreach--i.e. particiapant in numerous panel discussions/workshops informing various public and private stakeholders how to best reach media and make their information appealing to reporters; minor budgetary input; equipment upgrades as needed; daily interaction with executive management within company; constant search of other sorruces of possible news input such as internet, newspapers, magazines for breaking news ideas and story generation; public relations--excellent phone and in-person skills with listening public; excellent public speaker/communicator/writer; calm and decisive in a crisis.
