  • Professor Anne Loucks at Ohio University recently began investigating issues that have limited the clinical and research potential of a bone assessment technology known as Mechanical Response Tissue Analysis (MRTA). In partnership with Dr. Loucks, I am exploring the associated mathematical issues.

National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)

Institute for Genome Sciences and Policy at Duke University
  • In collaboration with Dr. Josh Socolar, investigated asymmetric periclinal division patterns in the Arabidopsis root upon SHORT ROOT (SHR) induction
  • Used confocal microscopy to record the temporal spatial data of the divisions occurring
  • Characterized division patterns using the Poisson distribution and assigning rate parameters to the cells
