Bachelor of Arts

DePauw University

DePauw University is a 4-year liberal arts institution. Here I learned how to think critically. Although, not a Christian college to any degree, I have taken several philosophy and religion courses focusing on Christianity. I also developed an independent study during my senior year focused on "Divine Sovereignty and Human Responsibility," where I wrote various summary and response papers on the subject, including a final term paper.

Skills

Skills

Event Planning

I have held various leadership positions that have required coordinating large events. As a philanthropy chair, I had to coordinate campus-wide philanthropies by coordinating with various administrators and organizations. I also had to manage our budget for events. As a college ministry director, I had to coordinate evening gatherings by contacting speakers, coordinating the worship, setting-up and tearing-down the venue, and being in charge of multimedia components.

Biblical Preaching

I have taught as a visiting preacher at various churches and teach occasionally at my home church. I ranked this as intermediate because I have not been formally trained through a Christian degree program, but have developed preaching skills on my own and with the counsel of my church. My church has affirmed the gift of preaching that God has given me and given me charge to preach to our entire youth group.

Biblical Teaching

I have started and led various Bible studies since coming to faith. I ranked this as intermediate because I have not been formally trained through a Christian degree program, but have developed teaching skills on my own and with the help of my church. My church has affirmed the gift of teaching that God has given me charge to teach our high school students.

Objective

My purpose is to glorify God through social justice issues, such as poverty and racial reconciliation, through a ministering of God's people, rooted in Scripture, prayer, and evangelism for the glory of God.
