Council Member and Personnel Advocate
Council: Collaborate with others to create vision and structure for organization’s future. Financial and operational oversight to assure organization is fulfilling mission.
In late 2009 proposed congregational focus "St. Peder's is fighting hunger in our community: Body, Mind and Spirit" to capture members' imagination and foster engagement. Presented information to congregation on 1/10/10 and gained commitment from across member groups to engage in numerous hunger-fighting activities within Longfellow community and throughout the world!
Personnel Committee: Beginning in 2004, collaborated with a group of concerned members to integrate professional personnel policies, tools and standards to build and sustain an outstanding team of professional employees. Since this time, this team has proposed to the council and then implemented:
- Position descriptions for all positions
- A sustainable annual performance review/goal setting process for all employees
- A professional employment policy manual
- A market-based process for budgeting employee costs
This team has been recognized by the congregation for creating a more professional and supportive work environment that has provided a strong foundation for building a high-performing staff.
