Community Manager

Affinity Property Management 

As the Community Manager of Skybox, Courtside and K14 Campus Flats (375 beds), I supervise a team of assistant managers, maintenance personnel and leasing agents. As student housing communities, which lease on an individual bases, I strive to provide a fun and safe community for my residents. In the extremely competitive student housing market, I have been successful in reaching our leasing goals each year. To maintain our competitive edge I have employed guerrilla marketing, social media, resident retention and public relation campaigns to meet our leasing goals. Since my recruitment for the management transfers of these properties in December 2013, I have improved the properties’ reputation, increased occupancy and reconciled financial delinquency.

As the Site Manager of Northgreen Apartments I succeeded in achieving the overall budget, maintenance and vacancy goals of the property. I am extremely budget conscious and always found new ways to raise our property standard and still save money and resources.  I have made many improvements to our maintenance department including strict occupied unit maintenance standards, improving the quality and appearance of our remodeled units and expediting vacant unit turn-over protocol and details. For over two years, our vacancy has been below 2% for our 222 unit property with a rent increase almost every 9 months according to the market.

2006 - 2012

Income Rental Property

I owned and managed a five-bedroom income property close to the University of Oregon campus. I qualified prospective tenants, handled all maintenance issues and performed all bookkeeping duties. I also handled the purchase and sale of the property.

This Oregon Ducks memorabilia store can be challenging with large numbers of fans during football season. Excellent customer service and minor crisis control are crucial for success during this time. Store merchandising is up to each location so I continually develop displays and re-merchandise as new product comes in. Working in a fast-paced retail environment taught me great customer service, teamwork and creative organization.

Intern - Marketing and Communications

United Way of Lane County

During my internship I launched a discount prescription drug program called FamilyWize in Lane County. I fostered the launch from start to finish including coordinating participating pharmacies, pitching press releases and creating web content for an information page on the United Way of Lane County Website. The program has saved Lane County residence over a million dollars in prescription costs since 2008.

University of Oregon

As one of the top journalism programs on the West coast, the School of Journalism and Communication provided me with the knowledge and tools to effectively communicate and utilize the world of media resulting in a portfolio that contains work from nearly every course and internship. The Public Relations focus taught me to constructively problem solve and think creatively to meet the marketing and communication needs of my company and clients.
