Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Developmental and Educational Psychology (Full time, tenured-track).

* For a description of subjects tought see 'University Level (official and non official programs)  sections below.

Job responsibilities:

Teaching is my first choice career. I chose teaching as a means of Mentoring & Guiding: to coach and lead today’s youth and foster in them a passion for learning. I want to share the knowledge and passion that I have for the success of all children and youth in education: bringing a high level of enthusiasm and dedication as educator, combined with a solid understanding of diverse subject material. In this sense, I help my students to achieve their full potential by working with them at two complementary levels:

  1. Theoretical level: delivery of Core Psychological and Educational modules to ensure that all students (undergraduate and postgraduate: pre-service teachers, Social Education and Master Students) have an understanding of fundamental methods, strategies and techniques involved in school settings, such as:
    • Cognitive and metacognitive strategies, Enquiry and Problem Based Learning, Mastery learning, classroom behavioral techniques.
    • Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), One-to-one instruction, peer tutoring.
    • Tiered instruction and Evidence-based programs: multi-level prevention systems to maximize student achievement and to reduce behavioural problems:
      • MIIAT (Modelo Integral de Intervención en Atención Temprana): Comprehensive model in Early Intervention for Spanish speaking countries, University of Murcia, Spain.
      • RtI (Response to Intervention Model) vs the Discrepancy Model (IQs)
      • Positive behavior Intervention Programs: (School Wide) PBS, Individualized Behavior interventions in the classroom.
    • Cultural diversity in the classroom, Second Language Learners, on-line learning, vocational training, Neurosciences & Education…

Practical level: Supervision of student’s practical work experience and effective classroom delivery of learnt methodologies at different Elementary and Primary schools of Melilla, Spain.

'Dr. Sergio Cepero has been working under my direction since beggining of 2010 in a research project related with the Design, development and evaluation of a Development Secondary School Teaching Program.

He was chosen between 43 candidates, being him the best candidate of all. He has done all the tasks from the project with full satisfaction and we have extended his contract untill the end of the project.

Dr. Cepero has shown great interest to fulfil his duty and to learn new data analysis methods required for this project. He has also made presentations of our project in front of colleagues and Master Erasmus Mundus's students'.

    Reference excerpt:

'Dr Sergio Cepero Espinosa has always been an exceptional student (competent, effective, easygoing, enthusiastic, honest, sensible, patient, tenacious and still more; in sum, brilliant), although he is still better person. 'He is a great person'. His academic file is impeccable and as professional he demonstrates the highest competence, tenacity, effort and sacrifice. He is a model in everything, as person and as professional.

It is for me a luck, an honor and a pride, to be his "teacher, doctoral thesis's director" and his friend.

Also, it will be a privilege to stand by him at any University'.
