Gorilla Motor Co. is an engineering startup, turned asset management company that specializes in generating licensing revenue from its Intellectual Property portfolio.

Selected to lead the strategy and planning initiatives from the ground up with accountability for translating a strategic vision into concrete tactical initiatives that lead to a successful financial exit for the co-founding team. Oversee all planning and finance functions, including all deal-making and firm restructuring, which led to the firm's pivot as an asset management company with long-term income derived from IP licensing. Additional responsibilities include financial forecasts, competitive analysis, and tracking of KPI's.

Key Transactions & Achievements:

  • $1 Million in annual royalty contracts obtained after successfully pivoting the firm from being a manufacturer to being a licensing based asset management company. Sourced, negotiated and performed due-diligence on all deals.
  • Secured $300,000 in funding from Angel Investors by presenting our plan, negotiating the terms, and performing due diligence.

Recruited to work alongside the Fund Managers and GPs to develop and present an alternative asset recovery methodology that leveraged technology and information to secure the management rights to a highly sought after, multi-billion dollar distressed debt portfolio from a leading Hedge Fund. Accountability included detailed portfolio analysis, creating supporting financial models, and presenting our strategy to our Hedge Fund client. Also responsible for oversight and management of two portfolio companies in the consumer finance sector.

  • Secured the management rights to a $3.1 Billion distressed debt portfolio, developed the asset recovery methodology, supporting analysis, models, and implemented monitoring systems and KPI's for transparent sharing of information with our hedge fund client.
  • Accountable for $15 Million in AUM invested in two portfolio companies in the consumer finance sector. As the portfolio company's manager, communicated fund's views, interests, and performance goals to portfolio company's management team.
