The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of international mobile phone distributor Celistics, Fernando Fiksman also leads two of the company’s subsidiaries, Movilway and Sure Destiny. Celistics offers logistical support for and distribution of cell phone, memory card, and SIM services in Latin America and Spain. Celistics counts the third largest telecommunications company in the world, Telefónica S.A. in Spain, among its many corporate clients.
Fernando Fiksman joined the Celistics leadership team in 2007, the company’s first year of operations, and helped generate revenues of $753 million. He directed senior management with statistical modeling, forecasting, and technology collaborations. Under the leadership of Mr. Fiksman and the Celistics board, the company has sold in excess of 45 million mobile phones to 13 countries in Latin America. By 2010, the company’s annual revenues had grown to $1.2 billion, a 17 percent increase over the preceding year.
Fernando Fiksman’s executive responsibilities include overseeing finances, human resources, investor relations, and business development at Celistics. During Mr. Fiksman’s tenure, the company’s employee base grew from a dozen staffers to more than 1,000 team members in less than four years.
Fernando Fiksman accepted the CEO and Managing Director positions at Movilway when it launched in 2009. Headquartered in Madrid, this branch of the Celistics Group started by recharging prepaid mobile telephones. More recently, Movilway has concentrated on banking services conducted by cell phone. Responsible for the company’s operations in Spain, Panama, Argentina, and Colombia, Mr. Fiksman has led Movilway’s expansion throughout the Spanish-speaking world and plans to open new offices in Mexico, Guatemala, Chile, and Nicaragua in the near future. Fernando Fiksman will also play a key role in the management of Sure Destiny, the newest member of Celistics Group. With more than 21,000 square meters of storage space, start-up Sure Destiny will specialize in the shipping, storage, and transportation of goods.
