Training instructor teaching telecommunications courses to union and management Verizon/GTE employees. The courses I taught were residential and small business telephone installation and repair, special circuits, fiber optic splicing, pole climbing, bucket truck operation, Verizon Fios installation and repair including cable television and computer network set up, cable splicing, and network maintainer.
My class sizes were from 4-20 students with a success rate of 100%. I received excellent and above average ratings on end of course surveys. I continue to have excellent relationship with former students.
I was senior instructor and acting on-site manager from November of 2003 to June 2006 when I retired. During contingency training for the possible strike of Verizon union employees on the East Coast in 2003, I was responsible for training management employees in telephone installation and repair, pole climbing and ladder safety. During the preparation for the rollout of Verizon Fios in the Dallas area, I was responsible for new employee orientation, employment verification, ID badge applications and photos, scheduling and hiring of contract instructors, scheduling of students during 24 hour per day, 5 day per week schedule, and the termination of students who resigned or failed classes.
