When taking over the position, I took charge of a floundering event that had been neglected due to some changes at the church, and turned it into a thriving community outreach event serving 70-90 children each summer. Recruited volunteers to teach and help; organized decorating, music helpers, food committees and craft committees. Developed a schedule of events for each grade level. Provided video and/or slideshow presentations to enhance the event. Took advantage of web-based tools to help volunteers get the information and helps needed. Also developed online registration.
