Managed long term planning for an organization of 600 engineers. Created tools to forecast resource allocations across projects to align with strategic investment objectives. Created a closed loop feedback system to compare resource projections with actual allocations. Result: Improved the staff manager's ability to project resources. Tightly controlled how many engineers to work on what projects to maximize Qualcomm's ROI. Combined data from multiple SW development and SW test teams across 4 geographic locations and 4 business units to create a unified view of where engineering resources are allocated and how each project ramps up and down over 12-18 month time window. Results: Provided data driven insights to executive management to re-balance product portfolio and team composition to better align with Qualcomm's strategic objectives. Helped narrow down the focus of teams to reduce churn and shorten time to market.
