Senior Field Assistant

UNHCR
  •  Senior Field Assistant Assist in monitoring the implementation of UNHCR programme including the delivery of all assistance items and monitoring of infrastructure.
  • Assist in administrative tasks as required such as preparation of reports and meeting authorized personnel and assisting them during field missions.
  • Act as interpreter in the exchange of routine information, contribute to related liaison activities and respond directly to routine queries.
  • Collect data and other information relevant to UNHCR and report to the supervisor accordingly.
  • Keep regular contacts with local authorities and implementing partners as requested by supervisor.
  • In coordination with implementing partners, assist in the reception, registration and provision of assistance to persons of concern to UNHCR.
  • Follow up, on a regular basis, the overall situation of persons of concern in camps and other areas where they have been accommodated and report accordingly.
  • Work Experience in the field for more than 7 years.
  • Undertake other relevant duties as required.

  •  Visit vulnerable IDPs, returnee, refugees and host communities and gather information on their Number, location, background, and other basic data as requested.
  • Collect information on humanitarian needs through close coordination with counterparts and community leaders.
  • Perform data entry and basic analysis in accordance with instructions received.
  • Prepare material, working papers and tables for monthly reports and submit to Senior Programme Assistant for Monitoring.
  • Visit IOM project beneficiaries and gather information needed for project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Report to direct supervisor on implementation status of IOM projects, including progress, irregularities and shortfalls.
  • Advise and keep IOM abreast of evolving population movements, trends and dynamics.
  • Work to facilitate and support IOM emergency response with emergency distribution assistance and coordination of information and activities with relevant goaI authorities.
  • Create, mobilize and participate in local governance coordination structures as needed to ensure inclusive participation of the targeted community, utilization of the community’s resources and alignment of IOM assistance with the local development plans.
  • Support (IOM Livelihoods Program) referral vulnerable families IDPs and Syrian Refugees.
  • Support transportation program for Syrian refugees from border to the new Camps 2013.
  • Wide network of connections in the camps and Non Camp.
