Key Results:
  • Brought organization from paper receipts to current format of QuickBooks Pro financial reporting

HR Manager


Assisted Corporate HR Director in all areas up to and including: Recruit management; Group benefits coordination; Developing orientation, training and incentive programs; Managing workers compensation, unemployment, employee relations and personnel records.  Working directly with CEO and COO's, I administered benefits enrollment and the HR budget.

Key Results:
  • Played a key role in ensuring the successful launch of DeSoto, TX plant. Structured and implemented programs and policies in the areas of training, compensation structures, benefits packages, incentives and new-employee orientation.
  • Fostered teamwork and an open-door environment conducive to positive dialogue across the organization.
  • Negotiated approximately 75 salary offers and dozens of sign-on bonuses and relocation packages annually at both the exempt and non-exempt level, with less than a 3% attrition rate.
  • Brought Workers' Compensation program into full compliance. Instituted preferred providers list and trained managers and associates on procedures to follow in case of injury.
  • Reduced benefits costs significantly by bringing new benefits packages to organization, introducing HRA and HSA plans.
  • Introduced an innovative way to interview long distant candidates, saving organization 40k annually.
  • Introduced company's first formal performance review program, creating a flexible and well-received weighted tool that was later adopted company-wide.
  • Revised job descriptions across all levels and 50+ categories. "Shadowed" and interviewed employees to construct an accurate picture of the duties and skills required for each position.

HR Coordinator


Promoted from a file clerk, within one week, to fulfill a broad range of HR functions, including recruiting and training employees, administering benefits, resolving employee relation issues, overseeing disciplinary action and managing HR records. Resolved conflicts between employees and insurance carriers, coordinated health fairs to promote employee wellness and performed exit interviews.

Key Results:

  • Main position was with employee relations, addressing turnover with out of the box concepts e.g. created a new concept for housekeeping: paying per room cleaned with housekeepers earning potential increasing considerably, yet still maintaining budget requirements as well as significantly decreasing turnover.
  • Provided superior guest service to applicant and employees; followed up and resolved guest service issues or concerns in order to ensure continuous courteous and friendly service.  I assisted employees with general questions regarding policies and procedures, benefits and human resource inquiries.
  • Ensured completion of all benefits new hire and post orientation paperwork by reviewing for accuracy and completeness in order to be compliant with record keeping guidelines.  Updated and distributed weekly benefits communication.
  • Ensured accuracy and detail in benefits for a self-insured corporation. Helped employees daily and administered the following: FT/PT Health insurance, STD, LTD, 401(k), FMLA/LOA.
  • Implemented I.D.E.A.S. program
  • Spanish translator for any and all company needs including other departmental communications.
