Sub Bid Assistant

Commercial Contractors, Inc.

Though this was a temporary job placement, I gained a generous amount of knowledge in the commercial contracting field. Previous to my experience with CCI, I had little to no knowledge of commercial contracting and real estate, and the process of store build-outs and expansions.

As a Sub Bid Assistant, I supported the Sub Bid Manager in locating contracting companies to bid for various commercial and retail projects across the United States and into some parts of Canada. The contractors I dealt with ranged from HVAC to Glass, from Electrical to Paint, from Demolition to Drywall, and everything in between.

Major retail stores included (but were not limited to):

  • Gap
  • Old Navy
  • Bath & Body Works
  • Victoria's Secret
  • Nike
  • Ulta

Daily tasks included:

  • Researching and contacting various contracting companies
  • Maintained. monitored and updated current open jobs for bidding
  • Assembled blueprints, CDs and job description packets for prospective bidders
  • Answered phones and responded to sub bid email inquiries
  • Contributed to being awarded the highest number of general contracting jobs within a two year span
  • Met and exceeded minimum number of contractors in each category for bidding, for every job scheduled
