  • Managed and dispatched 22 in-house (and three additional agencies of) medical interpreters between the doctors, nurses and non-English speaking patients of OHSU.
  • Kept calm demeanor during emergencies. Instituted many administrative systems to help expedite and improve customer service and productivity.
  • Studied and spoke various phrases in a wide variety of languages including Spanish, Russian, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Arabic.

  • Wrote daily news stories for local ABC affiliate’s evening news programs ­– coverage including breaking news, national, local, political, crime, etc. 
  • Worked with producers and reporters on preferred angle of story. Hunted down most recent wire updates and stories written by sister networks. 
  • Contacted local authorities, hospitals and law officials to obtain last minute details and updates before going live. 
  • Tracked photographer schedules and coordinated with assignment desk. Initiated story links with web department. 
  • Used Associated Press’ ENPS software program to create VO’s, VOSOTs, appropriate graphics, CGs, full-screen graphics and franchise pieces. 
  • Downloaded Pathfire and NewsOne feeds to incorporate in stories I was writing.

  • Booked guests for TechTV’s nightly live news broadcast program, Tech Live.   • Was instrumental in producing TechTV’s half-hour special, “Bond: Guns, Gadgets and Girls” and the five preliminary nightly segments to promote MGM’s “Die Another Day” launch
  • Scheduled celebrity and expert interviews, conducted pre-interviews with guests, and wrote sample questions 
  • As the sole entertainment booker for the show, I arranged movie junkets, on-set shoots, and met with major television and movie studio executives
