In my role of Finance Manager EAI, I have responsibility for a wide range of finance activities in the Olefins & Polyolefins Segment for EAI (the largest segment in revenue within the companies). I am also a member of the International Management Team, involved in strategic activities related to our joint ventures (a.o. refinancing, operational excellence, differential performance implementation etc.) and international marketing activities in Asia and AFMEI regions.

In my role as controller for the EMEA region I am responsible for all controlling aspects in the region, including our shared service centre in the UK. Current projects include legal entity restructuring, process standardization and optimization, centralizing treasury activities in central entity, standardizing (compliance) annual accounts processes on an European basis, and setup of joint ventures. I am the direct focal point for the external auditors and have reporting lines to the Chief Accounting Officer in the U.S. and the European CFO and CEO. Other responsibilities include developing and building the controlling team in the region and financial planning and analysis for our African business.
Since my repatriation from Houston I continued to be the global lead audit senior manager on LyondellBasell Industries N.V. My primary responsibilities are leading the multinational audit team, primary focal point for CFO and Senior Management, interaction with Supervisory Board and ultimately responsible for all US GAAP, IFRS issues and SEC and AFM reporting. In addition, I lead the global audit of one of the Netherlands largest investment companies, HAL Trust, listed at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, whose main investments are in the retail industry, like GrandVision (Pearle) and Audio Nova International (Schoonderberg).

Led the global execution of the audit of a $40 billion chemical company, including direct management of large multinational teams. Overall responsibility for audit planning, project management and economics, SEC reporting, developing and applying solutions to technical accounting and business issues, and recommending high quality process improvements. In addition to the financial statements audits, I was responsible at the PwC side for multiple private offerings (144As), a Form 10, S1 and S4 related to their security offering on the NYSE and primary point of contact for the Underwriters.
Unique experience in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and related accounting thereof. Voted manager of the year in Houston in 2009.
