Video Editor/ Digital Content Producer

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Managing Consultant, I am responsible for media and digital content management by performing the following duties:

  • Logistics and equipment management. I ensure that our cameras, tapes, tripod stands, lights, microphones etc are in good condition and keep an equipment log for pre & post event storage.
  • Planning and organising for an event by hiring video and photography crew and overseeing set-up and coverage
  • Directing video production for web, social channels and news broadcast
  • Distribution of footage to media houses e.g KTN,K24,NTV,
  • Editing event footage and videos and publishing on our various social channels e.g YouTube, Vimeo, Web page etc
  • Social Media communication for our clients 
  • In-House social media. Create concepts for social media content. 
  • Integrate with team on other projects that require teamwork

Intern - News Room Editing

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation

Creatively work with the layers of images, story, dialogue, music, pacing, as well as the actors' performances to effectively "re-imagine" and even rewrite the film to craft a cohesive whole.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to my supervisor, I was responsible for assembling raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcasting by performing the following duties:

  • Assemble all raw footage, with camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for inputting into the computer
  • Inputting uncut rushes and sound, and synchronizing and storing them into files on the company server folder
  • Digitally cut the files to determine the sequence of the film and determining what is usable
  • Create a rough cut of the film and determine the exact cutting for the next and final stages
  • Oversee the quality and progress of the audio and vision engineering and editing of the news bulletin
  • Consult with the supervisor and producer throughout the post-production process
  • Familiarize with editing software (Final Cut Pro)
  • Experiment with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
  • Select the most effective shot of a scene in terms of news features, relevance or continuity
  • Other duties as assigned
