Emmanuel Witzman has used his diverse experience to build a successful law career by drawing on a background in entertainment and business. Before entering the field of law, Witzman worked at Eatsleepmusic Corp., as a Production and Fulfillment Specialist. The online karaoke company was headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. His duties included producing advertising copy, maintaining internal procedures manuals, writing software documentation, and presenting monthly status reports to the company’s Board of Directors. Emmanuel Witzman created and implemented an improved shipping system and upgraded the company’s database. During this same time, Emmanuel Witzman began his undergraduate education at Carleton University, completing the first year of a Bachelor of Arts program in Communications and receiving the Carleton University Academic Award. He then transferred to the University of Victoria to pursue his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. While working towards his degree, he spent his summers as a Management Assistant at Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club. In addition to generating promotional press releases and keeping the club’s calendar listings for upcoming shows current, Witzman also supervised the club’s daily operations, including taking reservations and selling tickets, and coordinated accommodations and security for all visiting comedians. After graduating with distinction from the University of Victoria, he gained acceptance to Queen’s University Faculty of Law in Kingston, Ontario. Upon earning his J.D., Emmanuel Witzman became an Associate and Articled Student with MacLean Family Law Group. Based in Vancouver and serving clients through British Columbia, MacLean Family Law Group prides itself on delivering attentive, personal service to the families it represents. As an integral part of the MacLean Family Law Group team, Witzman handles complex matters, including drafting pleadings and agreements, conducting legal research, and attending at court proceedings as a Client Advocate. He also performs initial intake interviews, writes letters to opposing counsel and unrepresented parties, and assists with examinations for discovery, mediated settlements, and judicial case conferences. When not practicing law, Emmanuel Witzman continues to write, act, and perform stand-up comedy.
