Upon moving from Annapolis, MD, to Dana Point, CA, in October 2012,I strayed from the world of PR & marketing to dive head first into the real estate arena by joining a small investment company that flips properties. My time with the company has proven to be educational, challenging, and fulfilling, allowing me to be hands-on with many of the company's intricate and varied operations.
Prior to my work with Nationwide Capital Group, Inc.....
While earning my bachelor’s degree in journalism at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, I focused my education mainly on public relations, combined with a minor in communications media and an emphasis in business. I am confident that these academic programs prepared me for a successful future in the field of communications.Through my work and volunteer experiences (an internship at Mount Aloysius College, IUP’s Chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America, our alumni-relations organization, and our student-run newspaper), I was able to focus on and develop the following skills:building professional relationships, working one-on-one with clients, producing results under budget and ahead of schedule, and gaining leadership experience while also working as a part of a team.
During my time in Annapolis I served as the hotel manager, and catering & events manager for the State House Inn and Ristorante La Piccola Roma in Annapolis, MD. I initiated and took total responsibility for all marketing efforts and materials, cross-promotions, advertising and event planning. I had also implemented some cosmetic improvements to the existing structure of the building and consistently increased hotel occupancy.
In addition to working full-time at the inn and restaurant, I interned with Chic Communications in Annapolis. This position provided the valuable opportunity to gain experience constructing strategic marketing plans, researching test markets for client products, writing media alerts, event planning, managing social media, compiling press clippings, and researching advertising rates.
