Volunteer, Marketing and Communications Department

Fort Valley State University

During my time in the Marketing and Communications Department at FVSU, I assisted by drafting a communications strategy for the University that compared our target audience to that of institutions like FVSU and ones we desired to emulate. In doing so, I determined FVSU's ideal audience, researched social media interaction data for several universities, developed possible types of content, and suggested ways for FVSU to increase its target user interaction. I also created the promotional graphic for the 2017 Honors Convocation.

Volunteer, Social Media Manager

Austin Theater Enrichment Arts Alliance, Inc.

During my times as the social media manager for the Austin Theater Enrichment Arts Alliance, Inc. I assisted in almost doubling the size of their social media audience through new outreach efforts. Strategies used include but were not limited to: the creation of various content (videos, original graphics, articles), interaction audience, real-time photos of and live video streaming of events, and campaigns to highlight the ATEAA's theme for a specific time frame. I successfully promoted the organizations most-attended event, the Winter Wonderland Festival, drawing over one thousand attendees during the day. I also partnered with Fort Valley State University's History & Marketing and Communications Departments (through the ATEAA) to successfully support the Smithsonian Institution Hometown Teams Traveling Exhibit from January - March resulting in over 2000 attendees to the exhibit throughout that time.
