Peak is a ten year old consultancy that provides learning and development and technology services to Fortune 1000 companies and Government Agencies.  Led the corporate restructuring effort to align all business development and project delivery efforts in-line with core competencies.  Led interactive marketing and overall internet presence initiatives, including CRM, direct marketing, and strategic partner relations, reporting to the CEO.  Established and maintained strong alliances with technology partners aligned with core business.  Responsible for coordinating all day-to-day project delivery efforts and maintaining and growing client relationships.    

Strategic Achievements and Successes:

  • Increased overall corporate visibility by developing and implementing marketing strategies which included but not limited to: obtaining local/national/vendor certifications for SBE/WBE/MBE/HubZone ; redesign and deployment of corporate website; redesign and deployment of other marketing and co-marketing collateral and messaging.
  • Established corporate PMO practice and implemented a project delivery infrastructure which streamlined project delivery, improved efficiency and improved customer satisfaction.
  • Implemented collaborative marketing strategies by developing key technology partnerships aligned with core business areas which include: learning and content management (LMS/CMS), business process management/automation, CRM/ERP and collaborative technology platforms.
  • Established key relationships with international partners and service providers to augment project delivery infrastructure with far-shore partners.  This led to reduction in overall project cost, increased ROI and increased responsiveness.
  • Increased project pipeline activity by over 50% by improving overall quality and responsiveness to RFPs and other service requests through development of a re-usable content infrastructure and solidifying prime partner alliances. 

Bottom-line Results:

  • Generated 50% increase in revenue.

Managing Consultant

State Government Agency - Deparment of Child Services

The Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) is New Jersey's child protection and child welfare agency whose mission is to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and to support families.  Selected as part of a team to lead the State's effort to modernize its child management systems and act as liaison to the State.  Developed several key interim pre-SACWIS (Statewide Automated Child Management Systems) applications and processes to facilitate easier transition to the SACWIS computing systems being developed by another prime vendor. 

Specific Achievements and Successes:

  • Synthesized user requirements and developed business use cases to facilitate application development.
  • Developed a business intelligence management reporting dashboard application which increased workers responsiveness to child management issues and improved efficiency.
  • Developed an automated data transfer verification application to test and validate transferred data between systems to streamline testing and improve data readiness.
  • Developed a web-reporting strategy to facilitate development of WebFocus reports for the new SACWIS application to establish standards for developing, staging, testing and deploying WebFocus reports in a consistent manor.
2003 - 2004

Engagement Manager/Project Manager

Sharp Decisions, Inc.

As a profit center for the State, the Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) is responsible for providing training to the State's 65,000+ employees.  Led a team that assessed the modernization of the business operations for this department to increase customer service and ROI.  The objective of this reengineering effort was to gather and create requirements to support the current and future customer maintenance needs in administering course offerings, course schedules and processing payments.

Specific Achievements and Successes:

  • Developed documentation of the existing business process and computing environment, which formally established a documented reference point for this department.  This type of documentation had not existed before.
  • Managed the development of a scalable multi-dimensional business model which provided details of the type of architecture required to modernize the department, and adequately service customer and departmental needs. 
  • Managed the development of a DotNet prototype which demonstrated the possibilities and capabilities of a scalable, multi-faceted and integrated customer relationship management, accounting and inventory application.
  • Provided technology, business process and operational recommendations to bring their computing environment into the 21st century.

Provided project management expertise in the development of corporate PMO.  Analyzed existing processes, templates and tools to identify areas of improvement.

Duties Included: 

Project planning, cost estimating, risk assessment and management, team management, budget management, project plan execution, scope management and client management.  Clients included Fortune 100 pharmaceutical companies.

Specific Successes:

  • Managed the delivery of several pharmaceutical B2C fee and no-fee based eBrand sites.  Responsible for bringing the delivery of these sites into compliance with established PMI project management standards to improve project ROI.
  • Provided project planning and estimating expertise to help produce more accurate proposals used in securing additional contract projects.

LDS is a premier intranet portal consultancy providing government agencies and Fortune 500 enterprises with state-of-the-art business and technology solutions.  Managed cross-functional teams in the delivery of B2B and B2C fee and no-fee based web sites and portals for telecom, pharmaceutical and financial verticals. 

Specific Achievements and Successes:

  • Implemented a B2E sales portal for a major telecommunications client to aid sales personnel in more quickly and intuitively retrieving product sales information, thereby allowing them to better service and sell to external clients.  Sales responsiveness increased by 85%.
  • Increased project ROI by providing project planning and estimating expertise to help produce more accurate proposals used in securing additional contracts and subsequently managing the projects.
  • Implemented a B2B prototype portal for a major telecommunications client to help prove the use of Sun Microsystems's iPlanet and Fusion technology, as a viable and secure B2B platform for corporate-wide portal development projects.

Sharp Decisions, Inc. provides strategic solutions and specialized resources to clients across the US and in 13 countries around the world.  Developed client/server and web-based software applications, and managed projects for state and local government.

Specific Achievements and Successes:

  • Implemented of a Food Distribution (client/server) Application for a local government agency.  This was essentially a home-grown CRM/ERP application.  The implementation of this application allowed the agency to replace an antiquated terminal-based system with new technology and extend application functionality thereby providing more accurate and timely service to their clients. 
  • Managed, tuned and enhanced the underlying Oracle database.  The application increased the department's productivity by over 60%.
  • Provided strategic database (Oracle) administrative support in the implementation/integration of a finance and electronic filing system for a state government agency.  This resulted in the successful implementation of one of this country's first electronic filing systems for state elections.

Established in 1891, Merck discovers, develops, manufactures and markets vaccines and medicines to address unmet medical needs.  Supported pre-clinical in areas of project management, hardware/software maintenance and application development.

Specific Achievements and Successes:  

  • Successfully implemented a Clinical Labeling System.  This improved the efficiency of label printing during clinical trials and compliance with new FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations.  Designed implemented and managed the Oracle database which supports the application.
  • Developed one if the first Electronic Filing systems in the country.  This project not only spearheaded much of the company's future electronic initiatives in regards to satisfying 21 CFR Part 11 - Electronic Records, but it also helped the FDA determine how future electronic submissions would be accommodated.  Also provided comments to the FDA during the early phases of the development of the electronic standards and also attended symposiums conducted by the FDA to further develop the standard.
