As a student affairs professional, it is my goal to transform students and help them stay focused academically, physically, and emotionally. Student affairs is always changing and I must evolve alongside the profession in order to better connect with my students. It is important to manage change while serving as a leader and a mentor.

Intern, Academic Advising and Discoveries Orientation

• Implemented and designed a survey in Qualtrics for transfer students who attended Discoveries Orientation and developed an executive summary highlighting the findings

• Response rate was 17.6% and students were fairly satisfied with the information they received throughout the orientation

• Drafting a workbook for academic advisors working with students on academic probation to aid in developing their emotional intelligence, based on Daniel Goleman’s (1995) research

HESAL Graduate Research Assistant

Outreach, Engagement, and Technology
• Recruit and engage with 25-30 prospective M.A. and Ph.D. HESAL students to bring them to campus

• Coordinate the HESAL Graduate Assistantship Interview Days for prospective M.A. and Ph.D. HESAL students, 2016 and 2017

• Member of the HESAL Social Media Task Force; assisted in launching and maintaining the Facebook page which reaches over 150 current students, staff, and alumni


Academic Research
• Provide support for Dr. Tamara Yakaboski’s internationalization at home (IaH) research through interview transcription, coding (via Dedoose), and annotated literature reviews

• Edited and provided feedback on research manuscripts, such as, “Titillation, Murder, and Romance: Hollywood’s objectifying anti-intellectual campaign against women” and “The Prism of Hollywood: Depictions of Racial Diversity in College Films,” for authors Dr. Tamara
