Managing Editor:  Develop and assign content, write stories, attend weekly editorial staff meetings, attend bi-weekly production nights, manage payroll.

Photo Editor:  Hold weekly photographers meetings, assign content, edit photos for publication and web use, photograph events as needed.

I have always been very passionate about photography, and decided to pursue that passion by taking classes and working as a photographer for The Penn. For IUP, I have photographed many campus events in which the photos have been used on the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Facebook page and website. 
As a journalism major, I have been extensively trained how to write. I began writing for IUP's student-run newspaper, The Penn, in 2011 and now serve as the Managing Editor of the publication. I have had extensive training in using AP Style, and am learning Chicago Style during my internship with the university. 
Social Media
This may not be considered a "skill," but it is definitely my forte. Before and during my internship with the Office of Communications at IUP, I learned how to effectively use social media to create a brand presence, engage with it's users, monitor users via a social media management system, work with teams using a social media management system, and use analytics to measure the success certain social media campaigns.
