Possessing expertise in marketing, strategic planning, business development, consumer products, and executive leadership, Ellen Breyer has filled a number of key positions at top firms. As Director of Corporate Marketing for Godiva Chocolatier in New York, she had responsibility for a significant part of the $20 million international luxury-product enterprise. At Leonard, Street and Deinard, a major Minneapolis, Minnesota, law firm, she worked as Director of Marketing and served on the Management Committee. For Hazelden in Minneapolis, Ellen Breyer became President and Chief Executive Officer as well as President of the Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies.
In other posts, Ellen Breyer served as President of chocolate-product company The Truffles Group and as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for construction and development firm Ryan Companies US, Inc., both in Minneapolis. As a Project Consultant for Freedom from Hunger in Davis, California, which engages in microfinancing and economic development to eradicate systemic hunger worldwide, Ellen Breyer redesigned and field-tested a part of the Credit with Education program. Presently a Principal of consulting firm Cumberland Partners Limited in Minneapolis, she develops strategies to increase the financial stability and success of organizations.
Ellen Breyer earned a B.A. in English at The College of New Rochelle in New York. She received an M.B.A. at the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business, also fulfilling coursework at London Business School. Additionally, Ellen Breyer completed the Executive Program at Harvard Business School. In 2006, The College of New Rochelle bestowed the Alumna Achievement Award on her.
Throughout her career, Ellen Breyer has received a number of other awards, such as Legal Marketing Association recognition for law firm branding, internal marketing, and outstanding internal marketing. She also received a Marketing Partner Forum award for Outstanding Legal Marketing. Named the Administrator of the Year in 2005 by the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers, Ellen Breyer garnered the Women in Business Award in 2006 from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
