Manage acute illnesses, chronic disease exacerbations, and chronic, complex, multi-system disease processes for infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. Perform detailed history and physical exams. Routinely order and interpret in-house and send-out lab work and x-rays. Develop diagnoses and implement plans of care. Provide well-woman care including pelvic examinations, breast exams, family planning, contraception counseling, and management of STDs. Routinely perform minor procedures including suturing and stapling lacerations, removal of ingrown toenails and incision and drainage of abscesses. Provide well-child care including immunizations, anticipatory guidance, and health promotion education. Counsel clients regarding health risk factors, smoking cessation, stress management, physical activity, and disease management. Emphasize health maintenance, health promotion, and risk reduction through counseling on nutrition, exercise, and medication. Provide referrals for clients with special or complex needs.

Supervise nine midlevel providers and perform duties including chart reviews, quality assurance reviews, job performance evaluations, staffing and scheduling for two locations, officiating regular staff meetings with midlevel providers, performing disciplinary actions as necessary, interviewing new employees and participating in hiring process, training and orienting new employees, participating in weekly management team meetings to review clinic business and goals.

Oversee operations of a Nurse Practitioner managed satellite clinicand function as the sole healthcare provider. Provide care for acute and chronic illnesses; developed, implemented and maintain weight loss program; perform pre-employment physical exams and DOT regulated physical exams. Contract and communicate with multiple companies to establish specific pre-employment physical requirements and standards. Review human performance evaluations as part of the pre-employment process. Perform hair follicle and urine drug screens (DOT and nonDOT), including e-Screen protocols. Perform breath alcohol testing and TITMUS eye examinations.

Implemented and customized Docutap electronic medical records system. Underwent extensive training to become a Docutap super user. Extensive customization of chart components including chief complaint, history of presenting illness, past medical and surgical history, current medications, and family and social history. Customized all physical examination templates, common order sets, and commonly prescribed medication dosages and regimens. Trained receptionists, nurses, midlevel providers and physicians on use and full capabilities of software. Implemented e-prescribing system and meaningful use requirements.
