Senior Director of Corporate Communications


I direct Appirio's global corporate communications efforts, including public and media relations, executive communications, analyst relations, investor relations, and internal communications, working in partnership with our in-house marketing team, customers, and channel partners including Google, Salesforce, and Amazon. I oversee a public relations manager, analyst relations manager, internal communications manager, U.S. U.K, and Japan PR agencies of record, and international contract employees.

  • Directed internal and external communications strategy for Appirio's half billion dollar acquisition by Wipro
  • Work closely with CEO, COO, CIO, CHRO and Board 
  • Develop and coordinate content for company communications, including internal newsletters, all-hands meetings, and company/sales kickoff meetings
  • Strategize and write executive communications, including announcements, speeches, presentations and statements
  • Developed and executed two proprietary research reports for use in external communications

Developed high-level public relations, brand, and marketing communications strategy, with an emphasis on brand communications and crisis communications, and carried out tactical execution of the plans. Account direction duties include managing budgets, timelines, vendors and traffic; and overseeing production of deliverables. 

  • Developed and launched the brand and public relations strategy for OneJet, a  business travel airline backed by Virgin America founding partners
  • Extensive crisis communication work, largely for government and tourism clients
  • Directed the public relations campaign for the Indianapolis Zoo's opening of the International Orangutan Center; led to a historic, record-setting year for the Zoo in both attendance and membership sales with international press attention

General Manager, Public Relations Supervisor

Managed Indianapolis office operations of an agency that reported $29 million in localized billings in 2012. Management duties included directing new business, staff development and operational budget oversight. As Public Relations Supervisor, I handled strategic and tactical day-to-day management of accounts and account teams, including media relations, crisis communications and social media/digital communications strategy, with a focus on consumer and retail clients. Clients included: Simon Property Group, Four Roses Bourbon, The Indianapolis International Film Festival, Forecastle Music Festival and McDonald's.

  • Led public relations for the Simon Property Group account, overseeing public relations for 40+ premier mall properties across North America; grew the account by 33% under my leadership and won contract renewal in a competitive re-bid process
  • Directed crisis communications for high-visibility, high-stakes situations, including a Chicago-area mall shooting
  • In a six-month period, generated 1,900+ media stories, resulting in 3 billion impressions and $8.5 million in earned media value
  • Onboarded the Indianapolis International Film Festival as a client in 2012; PR efforts increased ticket sales for the Indy Film Fest by 24%; four of the 10 days doubled in attendee from previous year

Director of Strategic Services


Was hired as the startup agency's third employee when no public relations department or accounts existed; later built and directed the strategic services department, which encompassed public and media relations, social media, marketing, event planning, scriptwriting and copywriting and corporate communications. Within two years,  grew to 14 staffers and led public relations strategy for Fortune 200 companies. Clients included: ExactTarget, Eli Lilly, IU Health, the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Starbucks and Author Solutions.

  • Managed the development and content curation of the new IU Health website during a rebranding
  • Led the re-design and development of the global Eli Lilly website (, including content creation, message strategy and copywriting
  • Consulted with high-level Lilly communications staff on best-practices in a tightly-regulated environment as they launched international social media strategy, including the creation of the company's first corporate blog (LillyPad)
