Directed the daily operations of the Lake County Child Health Program, a Title V funded health program administered by the NWI Health Department Cooperative. Key accomplishments included:

  • Successful recruitment and long-term retention of clerical, professional and para-professionalstaff.
  • Negotiated commercial leases and co-location agreements with federal, state and local agencies.
  • Collaborated extensively with community leaders and health care professionals in the development of community health care and social service programs.
  • Provided grant oversight and consulting for a state funded high risk neonatal program in the county at the request of state health department.
  • Conducted community needs assessments using client surveys, focus groups, agency interviews, epidemiology reports, census, and other public information sources.
  • Wrote annual state grant proposals for primary child health program and other relevant ancillary programs successfully receiving over $1.5 M in Title V grant monies over a 10-year period.
  • Served as Implementation Chair for the Lake County Health Start Consortium: an $8 M federally funded project designed to provide perinatal care services aimed at reducing infant mortality rates from 1994 to 2000 in Lake County, Indiana.
