Welcome to my VisualCV. Please feel free to contact me via email or phone to further discuss my credentials.

In May 2012 I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a bachelor’s degree in mass media and English, along with a minor in film studies. My emphasis of study in mass media is journalism, and in English my emphasis is creative writing. I recently relocated to the Los Angeles area to search for a job within my field.

From May 2010 to April 2011 I held the position of News Editor of the Minnesota State University, Mankato Reporter. I moved on from the position to better focus on internship opportunities and my studies in my last semester. During my time at the Reporter, I learned a great deal about organization, research, planning, writing and management. I managed a blog, Facebook and Twitter to better promote our newspaper and its articles. I had a staff of five writers who contributed to my section, which was produced semi-weekly. I wrote, edited copy and did layout for the entire section. Before becoming News Editor, I was a staff writer for two semesters.

In January 2012 I began interning at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Mankato. I worked on projects including reorganizing the store's Facebook page, planning a donation event in a nearby community, grant writing to gain funds for an expansion and planning a five-year anniversary party. I also worked directly with customers in the store and helped with picking up large donations from local businesses. I became more familiar with branding and marketing during my time there, and I learned a great deal more about how social media can help make a business successful.

After moving to the Los Angeles area in 2012, I began working at Le Parc Suite Hotel in West Hollywood, CA. There I gained experience working with high-level VIP guests and proved myself as a valuable employee, which was acknowledged when I was promoted to Front Office Supervisor.

I offer enthusiasm for the field of mass communications and English as well as knowledgeable experience in the field of journalism. In addition, I am well-versed in both managing employees and a business in a hospitality setting. My experiences have given me the skills I need to excel in any customer service-based profession. I hope you enjoy looking over my Visual CV!
