 Study of Compressive behaviour of 6061-Aluminium alloy at high strain rate

CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata, India

Investigated dynamic compressive strength of 6061-Aluminium alloy at high strain rates ranging from 1000 to 4000 s-1 at room temperature. The Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) apparatus was used to perform the experiment and collect the data representing the stress-strain response of the aluminium alloy during its deformation, which were further analyzed to determine stress and strain rate sensitivity dependence on strain rate.
