Ehab Al Shihabi

The current strategic advisor to the executive director of Al Jazeera Media Network, Ehab Al Shihabi has worked for more than 20 years with some of the foremost media companies in the world. After graduating from the University of Jordan with a master of business administration, he became a senior management consultant with Arthur Andersen, Andersen Consulting, and Deloitte. During this time, Ehab Al Shihabi served as a media consultant on transactions for Fortune 500 companies.
Following 12 years as a management consultant, Ehab Al Shihabi accepted the position of deputy managing director at Al Jazeera English. Five years later, he became the executive director of international operations at Al Jazeera Media Network, where he led efforts to expand to North America. Al Jazeera America reached 65 million households within 10 months and earned a place among Google’s top-10 news sources after just four months of coverage. Ehab Al Shihabi established the editorial direction of the fledgling network and secured carriage arrangements with major cable operators across the country.
Ehab Al Shihabi received his bachelor’s in accounting and economics from the University of Jordan. In addition to his master of business administration from the University of Jordan, he holds a master’s in leadership from Georgetown University, as well as a master’s in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. In recent years, he completed the Management Essentials Certificate and Leadership Essentials Certificate at the Harvard Executive Education program. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor.
