Erin Freeley has been a public relations practitioner for almost a decade, working both independently and with such top agencies as Edelman, OutCast Communications, Niehaus Ryan Wong and CooperKatz & Company.
With highly developed skills in strategy and message development, and in traditional and social media relations, for business, technology and consumer media, she has a demonstrated ability to translate technology's benefits to business and consumer audiences alike.
At Edelman Ms. Freeley was a senior member of the Technology practice, where she specialized in corporate messaging and positioning and media relations for award-winning business and technology programs.
For example, as a key contributor to the Palm account, she oversaw all of Palm's Web 2.0 initiatives, including orchestrating Palm's first social media news release and conceptualizing and executing the Palm corporate blog. Additionally, she was responsible for pitching and coordinating interviews with media; press-release writing and editing; supporting product-launch activities; and leading the analyst relations program.
Before Edelman, Ms. Freeley spent more than two years at OutCast Communications, driving media/analysts relations and product-review programs for: Dell's storage, server and software alliances product lines; VMware, an EMC company; and Good Technology. Under her direction, these companies garnered significant media coverage, including numerous product reviews in such publications as BusinessWeek, InfoWorld and PC Magazine.
While at Neihaus Ryan Wong, Ms. Freeley developed and maintained relationships with industry trade and business press, and industry analysts on behalf of Concur (corporate and travel expense management); Interwoven (content management); Vixel (storage networking technology); and Waveset (identity management), now part of Sun Microsystems. She also conceived and implemented several successful product launches through key message development.
At CooperKatz & Company Ms. Freeley planned and executed public relations campaigns for new business launches; including a three-month, 30-city nationwide tour for HomePoint.com.
Ms. Freeley holds a B.S. of Business Administration with a minor in Communications from the University of San Diego, ranked by BusinessWeek as one of the 50 best undergraduate business schools for two consecutive years and an MBA in Marketing from Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York.
