Summary

My purpose is to post a VisualCV on this site to determine if it is truely an innovation or just more of the same.   I determined that VisualCV is a presentation tool rather than an ePortfolio.  It is pretty cool... and visual... but it lacks underlying "knowledge" and a guidance framework that would provide advice on crafting a great resume or CV or presentation.

If you are a recruiter or marketing major or a journalist or graphic artist, go for it.

If you are a bit twiddler, an engineer or a software salesperson, good luck, you're on your own!

  • Responsible for Strategic Business Development for Monster, determining emerging customer and industry needs and developing solutions or solution messaging that properly positions Monster in the Talent Management market. 
  • Manages technical project/program management of current initiatives within Monster Government Solutions including advising cross-department teams (Sales, Product, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Support) in custom crafting solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Provides technical HR and federal-specific advice to Monster Government Solution Team, including advice on federal government buying behaviors and contracting processes sales. 
  • Advises on sales strategy and develops plans for “packaging solutions” that ease the solutions sales process and speeda the sales cycle.
  • Responsible for interpreting and translating federal requirements for Monster’s product management and development staff and advising on product and solution strategy.

  • Provided federally-focused marketing messaging for the new federal government Human Resources product suite that emphasized how solution capabilities could mediate or resolve emerging federal HR business issues.
  • Assisted sales in their approach to and contact with federal clients, serving as an federal HR Solutions Architect, and assisted AEs and Business Development staff as they crafted and communicated HR solutions that met customer requirements or "pain points."
  • Analyzed customer requirements and business issues in light of application capabilities and provided advice and consultation to AEs, solution consultants and proposal team working on solutions configuration and proposal completion.
  • Tracked changing federal requirements and emerging trends in federal HR and communicated needed changes to product managers and developers.

Director for Treasury Integrated MIS

  • As Executive Director of Treasury Payroll and Personnel Systems, I was responsible for providing payroll & personnel systems services to 160,000 employees and providing payroll accounting information to Treasury bureaus as they tracked over $12B in annual payroll expenditures.
  • Managed and led 45 employees providing training, customer support and application support services for this $30M program as well as management information and strategic reporting services to Treasury executives and regulators.
  • Managed the $58M project to move Treasury payroll and personnel operations to the USDA National Finance Center (1988-1992) as well as the ongoing cross-servicing relationship with USDA.
  • Represented Treasury on OPM's Human Resources Technology Council, proposing and serving as Executive Sponsor of the "Digital OER Project" which because OPM's HRDN and, later, eHRI.
  • Promoted and co-led a government-wide Payroll Task Force originally intended to yield a"federal payroll policy structure" in government but evolved into eGov's "ePayroll" effort.
  • Other accomplishments include co-authoring OPM's Humans Resources Management Systems Requirements Study, and OPM's Payroll/Personnel Cross-Servicing Guide.
