About Edward Bergles

Edward Bergles received his bachelor’s degree in music and master’s degree in music education from the University of Wisconsin. He holds a Wisconsin teaching certification for instrumental music education K-12 and has more than four decades of experience performing and teaching music at a variety of levels. Throughout his career, he has also held lead performance positions with a wide range of groups, including the Racine Kilties Senior Drum and Bugle Corps and the Milwaukee Knight Wind Ensemble. Most recently Edward Bergles was the director of jazz at Park High, a school within the Racine Unified School District. He has been working with the district since 1979 as a music teacher and has taught in elementary, middle, and high schools. As the jazz director at Park High, he helped the band get selected to perform at the Wisconsin State Music Conference.

In his free time, Mr. Bergles enjoys sailing and he has participated in both the Racine Yacht Club Hook Race and the Queens Cup Race six times each. He also enjoys biking, averaging around 750 miles of riding each summer. An active member of his community, Edward Bergles belongs to the Holy Communion Church and has gone Christmas caroling in Racine. He often volunteers to teach an adult sailing class at the yacht club and is a volunteer mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
