A distinguished consultant with over thirty years of experience in executive management positions, Edmund B. Parker began his career in Tucson with a Bachelor of Science in Education from the State University of New York and a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Guidance Counseling from Niagara University. Developing his business leadership skills, Mr. Parker led one of the largest social service agencies beginning in 1976. Serving as director of marketing and resource development with the United Way of Greater Tucson and Southern AZ, Edmund Parker was integral in orchestrating financial and marketing plans for the enterprise and helping to raise capital through several company campaigns. For his efforts, Mr. Parker was promoted to Chief Executive Officer and President of United Way. Serving with the United Way of Greater Tucson and Southern Arizona for over 30 years, Edmund B. Parker helped redirect the company’s business strategy from a solely fundraising organization to a results-driven, community-building operation. By establishing significant government partnerships at the city, county, and state levels, Mr. Parker facilitated the growth of the company’s annual revenue from $2 million to over $20 million. Personally raising over $350 million from individual, corporate, and foundation contributions, he established the company’s endowment fund, several independent asset accounts for local residents, and the Earned Income Tax Credit Program, which has provided increased financial security for Tucson families.In 1995, while still with United Way, Edmund Parker served with the University Physicians Healthcare which later merged with UMC to become University of Arizona (UA) Health Network. Until 2010, he aligned the strategic planning, finance, auditing, and compensation committees and developed government relations, facilitated departmental integrations, and consulted in philanthropy. The following year, Edmund Parker became the executive director of the Professional Employment Exploration and Resource Services (PEERS). He continues to work with PEERS on a volunteer basis and is currently seeking a new leadership opportunity.

For a record breaking number of years, Mr. Parker was the Chief Executive Officer/President of the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona. He collaborated and worked successfully with multiple boards and people from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. He achieved the vision and mission of the United Way and instituted change in the organization when necessary. Mr. Parker established and implemented policies, oversaw operations, created strong teams and partnerships, maintained financial stability and security, and developed new sources of revenue for growth. The last year that Ed was there, approximately 20 million dollars from all revenue sources, including grants, came to the organization. He trained, managed and mentored staff and volunteers. Ed represented the nonprofit in the community as the chief spokesperson and he motivated individuals to participate in charitable giving to benefit those in need.
