Summary

I've mentored and instructed teenagers, young adults and striving learners of all ages for over a decade, teaching and serving in classrooms, educational nonprofits (and even a church basement or two!) in Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, New York City and now Los Angeles. My continually evolving classroom and community practices are grounded in experiential and discussion-based problem solving and collaboration which allow me to form authentic connections with students and facilitate dynamic learning. I am particularly interested in the cultural and political intersections of critical pedagogy, gender, pop culture, social class and gifted and progressive education in the independent school sphere, and continuing my own journey as a learner is major priority.  I have served on the boards of The Hartford Friends and Enemies of Wallace Stevens, The Cove Center for Grieving Children and Greenwich Academy Alumnae Association, and also the National Organization for Women New York City (NOW-NYC) 2014 Activist Alliance for emerging feminist leaders.
