Process Restructurer and Atlassian Expert (Contract Position)

I have been engaged by Procura to examine the entirety of their software lifecycle and to put forth a set of recommendations to help them move towards an agile approach. To support this I am also solely responsible for restructuring their Atlassian tool stack to support this process and provide a cohesive Support, Product Management, Development, and Management solution in a combination of JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, JIRA Portfolio, and Confluence.

Jun 2014 - May 2015

Producer (Contract Position)

As a producer at GameHouse I was responsible for the management and ultimate success of a team of 13 co- located and remote people working on a multi-platform mobile game. Everything from production schedules to creative decision making and facilitation fell within my purview. This position made heavy use of my Scrum Master certification, as well as my ability to negotiate tough time-scope-cost decisions honed during my time as a Product Manager. There are a lot of opinions out there about what a Game Producer does, but in my opinion this job was ultimately about leading a team of people through to accomplishing a rather lofty goal. The goal in this case was the build for launch and then subsequent growth of the game Slingo Adventure on the iOS and Android mobile platforms. From launch in October through to my contract end in May we grew the game from 0 to over 350, 000 installs and a 4.1 star average review on both platforms. This position was an extraordinary experience both in terms of exposure to new methodologies and personalities, as well as the vagaries of the mobile markets.

Seeker Solutions

Sep 2013 - Apr 2014

Agile Coach and Scrum Master

At Seeker I operated necessarily beside the organization structure to identify, lead, and drive positive changes in team operation and communication. I adapted various methodologies and applied them to real world scenarios and challenges. My most successful transformation was a Scrum Reboot, which entailed leading 30 team members through a reboot of their understanding and use of Scrum. This lead to increased throughput, efficiency, team happiness, and cohesion. Everything from Agile, to aspects of Lean and Six Sigma were utilized at Seeker, and my scope was the entire organization. My go to hammer was the majority of the Atlassian toolstack, and I leveraged it in areas of the business typically not seen. Imagine a product advertised as an Agile Project Management solution leveraged for everything from front office procedures, to asset management, to software development. Sadly the market for Seekers product was not in place, and as such the company folded in April of 2014

SSI (ShipConstructor)

Mar 2011 - Sep 2013

Technical Product Manager

In my role as a product expert I acted as a customer representative, advocating for their collective interests in the future of the product. My accomplishments at SSI included quickly adapting to the shipbuilding industry, absorbing and then applying product and domain knowledge into a development ready roadmap. A challenge I enthusiastically took on was the analysis and restructuring of the entire development process with the goal of streamlining and making the process more efficient.

Mar 2010 - Mar 2011

Business Systems Analyst

At MAXIMUS I was responsible for leading analysis efforts aimed at modernizing and maintaining the BC Ministry of Health Services claims processing system. I was also personally responsible for maintaining large swathes of their methodology. In the relatively short period I was with MAXIMUS I completed three large projects involving multiple external stakeholders and having documentation exceeding several hundred pages in scope. Additionally I submitted a complete redesign of the company standard Functional Specification template which forms the core of their methodology framework.

Tri-D Technologies

Feb 2009 - Sep 2009

Product Manager

While employed as a contractor with Tri-D Technologies I was solely responsible for the determination of how and if products would be developed. My work at Tri-D laid the groundwork and initial launch of Exact-Flat.

Century Systems Technologies

2007 - 2009

Sales Engineer

At Century Systems I was responsible for the design and implementation of their Geological Database Management System, the Fusion Software Suite. While with Century I successfully deployed and integrated the Fusion software suite for companies in many countries in North America, Africa, and Europe. I successfully championed the use of standard Windows API's within the software product with an end result of a much higher compatibility rate with managed Windows Server Systems as well as developing a method to provide higher throughput on high latency high bandwidth IP connections.

Mining Technologies International

2006 - 2007

Programmer Analyst

In this position I developed an intranet portal with a interface to MTI's Qantel ERP system. Advantages of the system included advanced part number searching across multiple site databases, automatic PDF generation of ISO document controlled quotations and duplicate part number searching utilities implemented with regular expressions.
