Supported African institutions in initiating, developing and sustaining digital library projects based on the open source Greenstone Digital Library software suite.
Conducted workshops throughout Africa to train librarians which were co-sponsored by UNESCO and IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations).
Technical expert on projects such as: DISA (Digital Imaging South Africa, focusing on the socio-political history of South Africa), CAMA (Contemporary African Music and Arts), CPM (Centre for Popular Memory) and AVOIR (African Virtual Open Initiatives and Resources).
Secured a grant from UNESCO to fund a feasibility study for a digital library support center for Africa. Recommendations from the feasibility study were implemented by the University of Namibia (http://www.sagreenstone.unam.na/).
