Beauty & Apothecary Specialist

In addition to overseeing the apothecary and beauty lines on the floor, I was responsible for product training and assisted in procuring new lines. My beauty services included makeup consultations, applications, and personal shopping. Specialty training received from all vendors which included perfumer Frederic Malle and David Mallet. While building and maintaining a beauty & apothecary clientele I developed strong relationships with clients in all areas of the store including fashion, home, and jewelry. Forty Five Ten is Dallas' premier boutique destination, with an international reputation of offering the" best of the best." The store has attracted a clientele that ranges from Oprah to Laura Bush,  to Gwyneth Paltrow and Erykah Badu.

Makeup Artist & Creator

On the side, I continue to freelance as a makeup artist, personal beauty-shopper, and bridal specialist. Some services provided to my clients include workshops, private classes, weddings, and applications for all events. Over the past decade I have freelanced with almost every major high-end cosmetic brand. In 2003 and 2004 I lived in Amsterdam, NL working full-time for Skins Cosmetic Lounge (www.skins.nl). While in Holland I also wrote for a Dutch Expat Magazine, DVoice, as a beauty journalist with five published articles. I also have published editorials and TV segments which include;  Martha Stewart Magazine (January 2007), Domino Magazine (November 2006), The Oprah Show (with Simran Sethi, Green Holiday Living, 2006).  I also work with West Hollywood Magazine, helping with editorial assistance.

Management

I began my career with LUSH in Dallas, TX. Hired on as a salesperson in Texas, I was eventually promoted to Assistant Manager of a new store in Kansas.  I therefore helped open and manage their first location in the state. Some of those responsibilities included scouting, training and coaching new sales staff while also focusing on marketing . I created a fun and professional work environment, taught new staff members how to build a strong customer base, and handled public relations including multiple television, print, and radio campaigns. After successfully launching this store, I was promoted to manager of Northpark, from where I started my career. In Dallas my responsibilities grew to include managing inventory, managing store books & financials, scheduling, and planning annual sales goals.

Some of my responsibilities at this privately owned boutique were: maintaining the high visual standards of the store, creating window campaigns, and organizing in-store events. I was the dedicated buyer for all stationary, home, and beauty products working with brands from all over the world.  In addition to these duties as a floor associate I was a sales leader and customer care specialist.

Assistant Manager

While working for this private boutique some of my responsibilities included selling, maintaining customer relations, and training of new employees. I also worked with the owner to decide which lines of cosmetics to procure. Creatively, I maintained the high visual standards of the store and created in and out of store events. I was also responsible for the creation and maintenance of the company website and played a crucial role in brand/store expansion to neighboring markets.  As a lead makeup artist I handled the duties of being the bridal specialist in addition to sales and applications.
