About Dwight Asberry

As a high school band director and instrumental music teacher, Dwight Asberry has contributed to the performance and success of his students. He has seen three of his students become valedictorians and five become spelling bee champions, while maintaining a 92 percent college acceptance rate among students in his programs. Dwight Asberry has also guided students to honor band participation each year since 1984, as well as to more than 375 performance awards in only six years.

Dwight Asberry has served as educational clinician and adjudicator for the Tournament of Roses honor band at Pasadena City College, as well as for a number of educational music festivals and workshops. An active member of the Southern California Judging Association, he serves as a percussion adjudicator for the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association.

In addition, Mr. Asberry has participated in three Drums Across California state championships as an instructor, composer, arranger, and music director. Currently a music director and teacher at Desert Mirage High School and music director at Morongo School, he is also working toward a master of arts in music education research.
