Fiber Optic Technician

Spligitty Fiber Optic Services, Inc

I was offered a job with Spligitty while I was still in college, and decided that I'd like a bit of life experience.  I started out in Portland, Oregon, briefly, while I was being trained, and then got offered the position in Seattle, which I promptly accepted.

In Seattle, our manager was typically located in Portland, requiring personal responsibility on the part of each team member to make sure we made every deadline.  During this time, I did subcontracted work for Blackrock Communications, Qwest, Verizon and TetraTech in Seattle, 3 Rivers in Montana as well as a 3 week long hot-cut for Utopia in Utah, in which I was in charge of, and responsible for, all testing that was done and quality assurance of the results.

Executive - Board of Campus Activities

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

For this job, I was a voting member on the Board of Campus Activities, which as a whole is charged with providing entertainment, such as Casino Night, Octoberwest, and booking performers.  In addition to assisting with the scheduling and selection of these events, I was personally responsible for the recruitment and management of volunteers, ranging from 5-40 depending on the event.  I also operated the campus movie channel, in which I selected and ordered the movies, as well as operated the equipment to play them and putting out a public schedule.
