Duke Ligon (Oklahoma City)

Duke Ligon, owner of an energy provider near Oklahoma City, has decades of leadership experience in the public and private energy spheres. Early in his career, he served the United States Government as an advisor to the Treasury Secretary on matters related to oil and gas and as an assistant administrator with the Federal Energy Administration. After transitioning from the policy sector to the private sector, Duke Ligon worked for several law firms and eventually joined the Devon Energy Corporation as both a senior executive and general council.
Following a decade of service, Mr. Ligon retired from Devon Energy. However, he remains active in his community by contributing to local businesses and nonprofit institutions. He is a vice chairman of the board with the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and belongs to the board of directors for Heritage Trust.
Before establishing himself in the law and business, Mr. Ligon earned his BA from Westminster College and his JD from the University of Texas School of Law. The University of Texas would later honor him with its Outstanding Oil and Gas Lawyer Award.
