Community-Based Respite Workers/Skill Builders

Upstate Respite Services

Provide hourly planned respite and skill building services to seriously emotionally disturbed (SED) children and adolescents in a community setting. Trained and certified in first aid and CPR.


  • Shop worker- worked with customers, register, stocking shelves.
  • Plant-Worked in warehouse in candy department, working with a team picking orders and stocking shelves to be picked from
  • Plant- Ice Cream production, working with a team, in a sterile environment.  Working under strict food constriction for safety of the customer.
  • Marketing Representative-Setup sales displays, checked inventory, codes and rotated product. Trained employees with sales, customers relationships and procedures. work in teams of 2-7, sharing and rotating tasks and teammates.


Volunteer Experience

  • Soccer Coach-For over 8 years, have worked with groups(12-15 kids) from school ages 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th grade. Made team schedule, and taught skills and team work with kids.
  • Children's Ministries Board Director-Plan and create curriculum, teaching materials, events and staffing for weekly classes. Classes ranges for infant to 5th graders consisting of about 200 kids.
  • Church Sunday school leader/teacher for 2nd/3rd grade-Taught weekly class of 10-15 children.
  • Vacation Bible School Director-Created, planned, and taught a week long program of lessons, activities and games for 20-40 children. Christian Elementary Youth Group Leader-Lead weekly youth meeting of a hour and a half to worship, teachings and games for 2nd-5th graders.
  • Christian High School Youth Group Leader-Working with Jr. High/Sr. High school age kids, with a large group and small group format. Playing games, teaching a lesson to 30 teenagers. Then working with a small group of 5-10 teenagers on a more close setting talking about life experiences and issues.
