Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT)

This is a new position created at MALT, responsible for directing all facets of MALT's external communications, as well as directing the membership/annual fund campaign (FY10-11 goal: $1.2M). In addition to responsibilities listed below for Annual Giving Officer, I now

  • Develop and implement strategies, programs and activities aimed at increasing public awareness of and support for Marin agriculture
  • Write content and serve as editor for monthly e-newsletter, quarterly print newsletter, and annual Year in Review (annual report)
  • Oversee creation of digital outreach efforts and website management
  • Manage all public relations and media relationships
  • Design and implement annual marketing plan
  • Supervise Development Associate, Database Manager, and Communications/Technology Manager

  • Institute for Museum and Library Services: $40,000 National Leadership Planning Grant to partner with Marin County Head Start to create a model for developing outdoor learning environments for underserved youth, aged five and under.

  • Morris Stulsaft Foundation: $5,000 for summer camp scholarships

Capital Campaign Assistant

Bolinas Firehouse & Clinic Project

Independent consultant on $6 million capital campaign to build a new firehouse and community

health center in Bolinas, CA. Services included:

  • Grant research and writing
  • Development of site specific donor recognition pieces
  • Donor cultivation and stewardship
  • Planning and production of public and private community fundraising events
  • Secured a Marin County Community Development Block Grant: $11,760 for building project expenses
2003 - 2006

Development Associate

Point Reyes National Seashore Association (PRNSA)
  • Grants: researched funding opportunities; worked with PRNSA and National Park Service staff to identify funding priorities; wrote grants to private foundations and government agencies for general operating support, environmental education program support, and natural resources projects within the Seashore; wrote and submitted grant reports.
  • Communications: wrote and produced quarterly newsletter and marketing pieces
  • Donor relations: managed member acquisition and stewardship, special events planning and production, fundraising database management
